Optimize Factory Workflow with Mobile A-Frame Glass Trolleys

2025-12-31 09:06

In a high-volume Double Glazed Units (DGU) factory, the bottleneck is rarely the CNC machine—it's the logistics between stations. Moving heavy glass from the cutting line to the edging machine manually can be slow and physically draining for staff.

Upgrading to specialized Mobile A-Frame Trolleys transforms your internal logistics. This guide explains how ergonomic design and superior maneuverability can reduce handling time and improve throughput in your processing plant.

The "Last Mile" Inside Your Factory

Efficiency is lost when operators have to struggle with old, stiff carts. Our trolleys are equipped with an ergonomic Heavy-Duty Pull Handle (as shown above) that allows a single operator to maneuver a fully loaded rack with minimal effort. This independence from forklifts means your skilled technicians spend less time waiting and more time processing glass.

Whether you are moving toughened glass to the furnace or transporting insulated units to the sealing robot, smooth mobility is key. The handle is positioned at an optimal height to prevent back strain, directly addressing workplace health and safety concerns.

The Science of Rolling Resistance

A mobile rack is only as good as its wheels. Standard nylon wheels can crack under heavy loads or get stuck on small debris. We utilize premium Polyurethane Industrial Castors (pictured above) that offer low rolling resistance and high load-bearing capacity.

Seamless Integration with Tempering Lines

For Toughened Glass Processors, timing is critical. Hot glass coming off the tempering line needs to be racked immediately. Our mobile trolleys serve as perfect "buffer zones." Their heat-resistant design allows them to operate near furnace off-loading areas.

By using a dedicated fleet of A-Frame trolleys, you create a flexible "Work-In-Progress" (WIP) storage system. Unlike fixed racking, these units can be reconfigured instantly based on the day's production schedule, clearing paths or creating temporary staging areas as needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How much weight can a single operator move safely?
While the rack can hold over 1.5 tons, for manual handling safety, we recommend limiting manual push/pull loads to 1000kg on flat concrete floors. Heavier loads should be moved via forklift.

2. Are the castors replaceable?
Yes, the castors are bolted onto the base plates, making them easy to swap out if they become worn over years of heavy use, without needing to replace the entire rack.

3. Can these trolleys be linked together like a train?
We can customize the racks with hitches and tow bars (tugger train systems) if you use electric tuggers to move multiple racks simultaneously across large facilities.

4. Will the wheels damage epoxy factory floors?
No. The polyurethane wheel material is non-marking and softer than steel, ensuring it protects delicate epoxy or painted concrete floor surfaces.

5. What is the turning radius of the trolley?
Thanks to the 360-degree swivel castors on all four corners (or two swivel/two fixed configurations), the trolley can rotate within its own length, ideal for tight aisles.
