Glass Wholesalers face a unique challenge: managing high volumes of raw Float Glass inventory that moves fast. You receive bulk "end-caps" or crates from the float plants, but your local customers often order loose sheets (loose lights). |
Once a wooden crate of glass is opened, the stability of the remaining sheets becomes a critical safety issue. A stack of 4mm or 6mm float glass can easily fan out or tip forward if not properly supported.
Our Sheet Glass Storage Racks are engineered with adjustable Steel Limit Bars (as shown below). These bars act as a fail-safe retention system. As your warehouse team picks sheets for an order, the limit bar holds the remaining inventory vertical and secure. This allows you to function as a "Supermarket for Glass," picking individual sheets without the constant fear of a domino-effect collapse.
Efficiency in distribution is about turns per day. If your racks are difficult to load or move, your trucks leave late. Our racks are designed for the fast-paced environment of a distribution center.
The Q235 Steel Structure is robust enough to handle the dead weight of dense packs (like 19mm thick glass), while the integrated forklift slots allow for rapid repositioning. If you have a rush of incoming stock, you can quickly deploy our stackable racks (like the 8 units shown in the header image) to create instant overflow storage, ensuring you never have to turn away a shipment due to lack of space.
Float glass is pristine when it leaves the tin bath. Your job is to keep it that way. Scratches on raw glass can become major defects once the glass is tempered or laminated downstream.
We use a specific shore-hardness of industrial rubber on the base and uprights. This material provides enough friction to prevent sheets from slipping but is soft enough to prevent surface abrasion. By maintaining the pristine condition of your stock, you reduce returns and build a reputation as a premium supplier.
1. What is the maximum sheet size these racks can hold?
Standard models accommodate sheets up to 2440mm x 3660mm (Split Jumbo). For full Jumbo sizes, we offer extended-length custom fabrication.
2. Can I store mixed thicknesses on one side?
Yes, but we recommend placing the thickest/heaviest sheets (e.g., 12mm) at the back against the uprights, and lighter sheets (e.g., 4mm) at the front for stability.
3. How many sheets can fit on one rack?
This depends on thickness. A standard rack has a ledge depth of roughly 300-400mm, capable of holding a substantial pack of loose glass weighing up to 1.5 tons per side.
4. Are the limit bars easy to adjust?
Yes, they drop into pre-drilled slots on the base. No tools are required to move or remove them, allowing pickers to adjust access in seconds.
5. Do you offer bulk discounts for distribution centers?
Yes, we specialize in equipping entire warehouses. Ordering a full container load (approx. 20-50 units depending on model) provides the best unit pricing and shipping value.
