Turnkey glass logistics solution racks

For glass distributors and fabricators, the margin for error is thinner than a single pane of 3/32" glass. You aren't just moving raw materials; you are transporting high-value assets like custom wholesale tempered glass and delicate Insulated Glass Units (IGU). Stop accepting edge chipping and inefficient "air shipping" as the cost of doing business. It is time to upgrade to a turnkey logistics system designed for zero breakage and maximum truck density.

The Economics of "Air Shipping" vs. Intelligent Nesting

In the glass supply chain, the most expensive thing you ship is air. Traditional A-frame racks are stable, but once they are unloaded at the job site or your customer's warehouse, they become a logistics nightmare. Retrieving empty A-frames requires just as much truck space as full ones, doubling your freight costs.

Our L-Shape Glass Holding Rack system fundamentally changes this equation. Engineered with a specific geometric offset, these racks telescope into one another when empty. You can stack up to 7 empty racks in the footprint of a single unit. This "shopping cart" style nesting allows you to fit over 100 empty units in a standard 53' truck or 40HQ container, reducing your return logistics costs by up to 70%.

Nesting capability allows for high-density storage and low-cost return shipping.

Eliminating "Metal-on-Glass" Contact

Every glazier knows the sound of a "clam-shell" chip—the precursor to a shattered pane. This often happens when the protective rubber on a rack wears down or peels off due to heat and adhesive failure, exposing the glass sheet to bare steel.

We do not use glue. Our turnkey solution utilizes a proprietary Steel-core Rubber Profile. This isn't just a pad; it is an EPDM rubber extrusion with a steel insert, mechanically fastened to the rack frame with self-tapping screws. The heavy weight of laminated glass or granite slabs cannot cut through this reinforced layer, and the rubber will never detach, regardless of weather conditions in the lumber yard or job site.

Steel-core rubber profiles prevent the glass edge from contacting the metal frame.

Structural Integrity for Heavy Fabrication

Whether you are handling standard float glass sheets or oversized architectural panels, structural rigidity is non-negotiable. A flexing rack causes stress points on the glass, leading to mysterious breakage during transport.

Our racks are built from Q235 carbon structural steel with full seam welding—never stitch welding. The base is reinforced with heavy-duty rectangular tubing (100x50mm) to withstand the constant impact of forklift tines. Rated for loads between 3,300 lbs and 8,800 lbs depending on the model, these heavy duty glass racks are designed to survive the harsh environment of a busy fabrication floor or construction site for over a decade.

From Warehouse to Jobsite: A Universal Solution

Efficiency is about flow. You need a rack that works on your automated cutting line, fits in your delivery vans, and can be lifted by a tower crane at a high-rise project.

Our Turnkey design includes 4-way forklift entry for warehouse agility and 4 welded lifting eyes for crane operations. The 90-degree vertical support with a calculated 3-5 degree tilt ensures that Insulated Glass Units (IGU) stay put without excessive pressure on the seals. By using a single rack type for storage, transport, and site delivery, you eliminate the double-handling that leads to scratches and worker injuries.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can these racks handle 1/4 inch tempered glass without bowing?

A: Absolutely. The Q235 steel frame prevents structural flexing. We recommend using our ratchet strap system to secure thinner glass packs tightly against the steel-core rubber backing to prevent vibration-induced breakage.

Q: What is the Load Capacity for the standard L-Rack?

A: Our standard export model carries up to 3,300 lbs (1.5 Tons). We also manufacture heavy-duty versions for stone or jumbo glass that are rated for up to 8,800 lbs (4 Tons).

Q: Will the racks fit in a standard shipping container?

A: Yes. The racks are designed with specific dimensions (e.g., length 1600mm) to maximize container width. In a 40HQ container, we can fit approximately 98 nested units, drastically lowering your landed cost per unit.

Q: Are these suitable for storing finished IGU (Insulated Glass Units)?

A: Yes. The 90-degree base and slight back tilt are ideal for IGUs. The rubber lining protects the glass edges and sealants. For curing IGUs, we also offer specific harp racks, but these L-racks are perfect for finished goods transport.

Q: Do you offer Hot-Dip Galvanizing for outdoor storage?

A: Yes. While our standard finish is a durable Electrostatic Powder Coating (RAL 5010 Blue), we highly recommend Hot-Dip Galvanizing if the racks will be stored outdoors in humid climates or coastal areas to prevent rust contamination on the glass.
