For high-value, irregularly shaped industrial components like motorcycle engines and transmissions, logistics and storage solutions must go beyond traditional racking. An ideal system requires a blend of macroscopic load-bearing strength and microscopic fixation to guarantee the absolute safety of parts during transport. This case study explores how our expert project coordinators developed an integrated, multi-material logistics system for a client, featuring a steel collapsible rack, a custom thermoformed tray, and a protective rain cover for their valuable components.
A leading U.S. automotive manufacturer required a collapsible logistics system for storing and transporting electric motors. This was not a simple request for a standard rack but a complex systemic challenge. The client provided detailed engineering drawings that specified a multi-component unit, highlighting the need for a comprehensive motorcycle pallet rack storage solution.
Leveraging our extensive experience in multi-material processing and complex project management, our team of skilled coordinators provided the client with a total solution, turning their detailed blueprints into a functional reality.
We manufactured the robust and collapsible steel rack that forms the system's foundation. This component showcases our core metal fabrication capabilities, including precision laser cutting and CNC bending for key parts like the folding legs. This ensures dimensional accuracy and smooth operation, forming the backbone of the motorcycle pallet rack storage unit.
The custom thermoformed dunnage tray is the heart of this solution, designed to protect high-value components. Based on the client's 3D motor model, we created a dedicated thermoforming mold. The resulting pallet liner features cavities that perfectly match the motor's shape, securely locking the components in place and preventing damage from vibration and impact.
This project fully demonstrates our ability to manage complex, integrated projects. We delivered a complete logistics unit, not just a single rack. By combining materials like steel and plastic and integrating processes such as welding, laser cutting, and thermoforming, we prove that we are more than a manufacturer. We are a partner who deeply understands product needs to provide one-stop, high-value packaging and logistics solutions.
