Mtrack motorcycle shipping pallet live demonstration still 1

If your warehouse team has ever lined up a forklift at a motorcycle rack and paused to ask, "Will the forks actually fit?", then the answer is not in a general pallet load rating. It starts with the fork opening, center distance, lift height, and the direction from which your forklift must approach. Mtrack is a configurable motorcycle shipping pallet and rack system: the base is designed around a defined forklift interface, rather than forcing the operator to insert a standard pallet fork into an unsuitable frame.

For a project review, confirm the forklift model, fork blade dimensions, fork spacing, load condition, turning radius, and whether the rack needs to be approached from two or four sides. The following figures are documented project references—not a universal Mtrack rating. Use them to prepare the interface discussion, and then have the final opening and spacing checked against the actual forklift before production. For the broader warehouse context, see our motorcycle pallet storage guide and the Mtrack-Produktseite.

Start with the fork opening, not the outside size of the rack

In a documented motorcycle club project, the fork opening was specified as 200 × 69 mm with a center distance of 820 mm These dimensions describe the access interface for that project. They should not automatically be transferred to another motorcycle, pallet width, or forklift. A narrower fork, a thicker fork heel, or a different approach angle can change whether the forks enter cleanly and whether the load remains centered.

Before ordering, measure the usable fork length and fork cross-section and compare these dimensions with the drawing-confirmed opening. Also check the center distance: a pair of openings can each be large enough individually, but still be incorrectly positioned for your forklift. The right question is not simply "Can a forklift lift this rack?", but "Can this forklift fully enter both channels, keep the load balanced, and withdraw without touching the frame?"

Why a 1-inch lift can make a pallet-fork interface functional

A technical reference documents that the rack base was raised by 1 inch This lift creates approximately 75 inches of clearance, allowing the base in the referenced arrangement to be approached by a standard pallet forklift. The lift is an interface decision: it creates space for the fork blades under the structure, rather than relying on a flat gap that provokes contact with the lower cross members.

The clearance must also be checked in the loaded condition. Floor unevenness, fork thickness, tire position, pallet deflection, and the operator's approach angle can all reduce actual clearance. The rack should be lifted evenly with both forks aligned and fully inserted. If the forks hit a cross member, do not accelerate or pry upward. Forced insertion can bend the access frame, damage the fork pockets, or shift the motorcycle restraint points. Stop, document the obstruction, and revise the opening or approach planning with the supplier.

When four-side entry is the better choice

Two-side entry may suffice for a fixed loading lane, but a warehouse or freight terminal often needs to approach from more than one direction. In a documented freight terminal configuration, the entry width was adjusted to 750 mm , resulting in a 150 mm fork lane for four-side entry. This was a project-specific layout decision matched to the handling path and rack geometry—not a blanket requirement for every Mtrack.

Four-side access can reduce turning and repositioning during container loading, cross-docking, and dealer warehouse lanes. However, it can also consume more frame width or affect usable storage density. The design review must therefore weigh fork lanes against the motorcycle envelope, rack depth, container or trailer limits, and the required loading direction. Do not assume that a wider opening automatically improves handling; the fork lane must match the actual forklift and the surrounding aisle.

What to send before asking "Will my forklift fit?"

  • Fork interface: Fork blade width, thickness, usable length, and maximum spread or center distance.
  • Approach plan: Two-way or four-way entry, aisle direction, container or trailer loading direction, and available turning radius.
  • Loaded condition: Motorcycle dimensions and weight, rack tare weight, restraint arrangement, and intended tie-down points.
  • Operating limits: Stacking policy, floor condition, handling frequency, and requirements for integrating the rack into an existing storage system.

Mtrack can be configured based on these specifications with wheel positioning, restraint points, removable or folding posts, and a defined fork interface. However, fork channel size and forklift load capacity remain project-specific points to be confirmed. No general tonnage value or universal payload should be derived from the product name alone. If your current forklift does not meet the proposed opening, the right solution may be an adapted interface, a different handling path, or a different forklift—not aggressive fork insertion.

FAQ on forklift clearance height

Ist 200 × 69 mm die Standard-Gabelöffnung von Mtrack?

Nein.
