Reinforced Motorcycle Pallet Rack for Stable Multi-Level Loading
500 kg is the common Mtrack project figure, but your bike weight sets the number. Recorded project loads: 500 kg (14905/15052), 350 kg (15385), 250 kg (15575) and 1,000 lb (about 454 kg, 14476). Allowable stress 220 MPa with 181 MPa at the wheel U-plate under 500 kg. No series rating table — load is confirmed per project on the approved drawing.
500 kg Is the Common Project Figure — Your Bike Weight Sets the Real Number
Mtrack has no series-wide load rating. Every rack is checked against the motorcycle it will carry, the fork direction your site uses, and the stacking policy you plan to run. The 500 kg class is simply the most frequent outcome of that review — it is not a catalogue figure.
Recorded project design values cover 250 kg, 350 kg and 500 kg, plus one client requirement of 1,000 lb (about 454 kg). Rack geometry, upright type and restraint details move with the load, so the working number is fixed on the approved drawing rather than on a specification table. The full configuration logic sits on the Mtrack motorcycle shipping pallet rack product entry.
- 500 kg class — projects 14905 and 15052. 2,550 × 1,050 × 1,266 mm (96 kg) and 2,550 × 1,050 × 1,316 mm (93 kg), sized for motorcycles up to 2,380–2,410 mm long and 1,000 mm wide, with insertable uprights that separate from the base.
- 350 kg class — project 15385. 2,320 × 1,050 × 1,400 mm (88 kg) for a mixed collection of more than 200 motorcycles, with uprights that fold inward for the empty leg.
- 250 kg class — project 15575. A 2,320 mm class rack with 1,200 mm and 1,400 mm height options (70 kg / 73 kg), one side folding and the other removable, four-way fork entry.
- 454 kg class — project 14476. The client set a 1,000 lb maximum motorcycle weight and a 2,415 mm rack inner length; the figure is a client requirement that we then engineered to, not a series rating.

Three Project Loads, Three Different Structures

500 kg class
Projects 14905 / 15052 — 500 kg Insertable-Upright Rack
Two 500 kg schemes for long touring motorcycles: 2,550 × 1,050 mm footprint, 1,266 mm and 1,316 mm rack height, 200 × 69 mm fork opening at 820 mm centres (620 + 200), and 12 racks stacked to a 2,490 mm total height for container loading. Uprights insert into the base and can be pulled out, so the base travels flat.
Design load 500 kg (project value)
Fork opening 200 × 69 mm @ 820 mm

350 kg class
Project 15385 — 350 kg Universal-Footprint Rack
A 350 kg scheme built for mixed bike sizes: 2,320 × 1,050 × 1,400 mm, 88 kg, sized around a 2,270 × 850 × 1,300 mm largest motorcycle, 188 × 89 mm fork opening at 685 mm centres (497 + 188), fold-in uprights for the empty leg, and both-side strap hooks. Recorded loading references were 35 racks per 20 ft and 88 per 40 ft high cube.
Design load 350 kg (project value)
Fork opening 188 × 89 mm @ 685 mm

250 kg class
Project 15575 — 250 kg Narrow Rack, One Side Folding
A 250 kg scheme for forklift turnover on a narrow aisle: 2,320 × 650 mm class footprint adjusted to 750 mm so a 150 mm side-entry gap stays open, heights of 1,200 mm and 1,400 mm at 70 kg and 73 kg, a 235 mm wheel slot, one side folding and the other removable, and four-way fork entry.

What Holds the Load, and Where the Stress Actually Lands
The Stress Point Is Named, Not Hidden
In the engineering review for the 500 kg scheme, the maximum allowable stress is 220 MPa and the maximum value under a 500 kg load is 181 MPa, located in the U-shaped plate where the motorcycle wheel sits. Before the two middle beams were revised, the same structure read 203 MPa at those middle beams. These are engineering-review figures for that project, not a certification or a series test result.
Raised 1 in So a Pallet Jack Can Take It
On the same project the structure was raised by 1 in so a standard pallet jack can lift the rack, leaving about 3.75 in of clearance under the base. Two extra fork channels were added at the same time, built with thicker material and stronger welding, because the handling load passes through those channels every cycle.
No Series Rating to Hide Behind
250 kg, 350 kg and 500 kg are project design values; 1,000 lb is a client requirement we engineered to. We do not publish a series load table, a series steel grade or a blanket safety factor — those items follow the approved drawing, so a buyer can see what was checked instead of trusting a marketing number.
What We Check Before Quoting a Load
Motorcycle length, width, height and unit weight; whether the bike may overhang the rack edge; fork direction, fork thickness and centre spacing; the rack, trailer or container interface; and the stacking layer count you intend to run. Load, layer count and finish are fixed on the drawing before production.
From Your Bike Weight to an Approved Load Drawing
Send the Bike and the Site
Motorcycle envelope and unit weight, plus fork direction, stacking plan and the rack, trailer or container the rack must work with.
Engineering Review and Stress Check
We size the base, beams and uprights to the load and report the maximum stress against the allowable value, including where the peak sits.
Drawing Approval
The working load, upright type, fork openings, restraint details, stacking level and finish are frozen on the approved drawing.
Production and Pre-Shipment Check
Rack geometry, fork channels, strap hooks and upright locking are checked against the drawing before the units are packed.
Answers for Buyers Checking Capacity
Is there a standard load rating for Mtrack?
No. There is no series-wide rating table. Recorded project design values are 250 kg, 350 kg and 500 kg, plus a 1,000 lb (about 454 kg) client requirement. Your rack is checked against your motorcycle weight and confirmed on the drawing.
What do the 220 MPa and 181 MPa figures mean?
They come from the engineering review of the 500 kg scheme: 220 MPa is the maximum allowable stress, and 181 MPa is the maximum value under a 500 kg load, found in the U-shaped wheel plate. The same structure read 203 MPa at the middle beams before those beams were revised. These are review figures, not a certification or a universal guarantee.
Can I stack four racks high?
Recorded guidance for that rack height is a total stack height of no more than 6 m, with four layers recommended, because stack stability depends on the hinge and upright detail. Other projects ran three layers or two-level transport only. Motorcycle height and container inside height can reduce the layer count, so the stack plan is confirmed per project.
What is the 1 in lift on the structure for?
It raises the base so a standard pallet jack can pick the rack, giving roughly 3.75 in of clearance. Two extra fork channels were added with thicker material and stronger welding so the rack can be lifted from the side as well as the end.
My motorcycle is heavier than 500 kg. What happens then?
Send the unit weight and the bike envelope. A 1,000 lb (about 454 kg) motorcycle was recorded on project 14476, where the rack was engineered to the client’s stated maximum. If your bike sits above the recorded classes, we recheck the base, beams and uprights and confirm whether the rack should be reinforced or re-designed before any load figure is quoted.
Do you confirm the load in writing?
Yes — the working load is one of the items frozen on the approved drawing, together with upright type, fork openings and stacking level. Any figure given before that drawing is a project reference and is marked as pending confirmation at inquiry stage.
