A foldable steel box, not a fixed cage

This collapsible steel box is a stillage built to hold loose, heavy or mixed small parts in one forkable, stackable, returnable unit.

It is best understood as a collapsible steel box platform, not a single fixed SKU. The base box uses tubular steel corner posts and a welded wire-mesh body — the posts are what make it stiffer and better for larger sizes and higher stacking than a plain wire mesh container. When full, a forklift or pallet truck moves the whole box; when empty, the side posts pull out and the box folds down to a low panel for return and storage. (Note: “hamster cage” is an old mixed term — the correct names are metal collapsible box or stillage.)

  • Tubular steel corner posts — stiffer than plain mesh cages
  • Folds flat to ~330 mm when empty for return shipping
  • Stacks on its own post locators when loaded
  • Optional racking-compatible base for beam racking
  • Mesh or steel panel body, casters, lid and gate options

Built around the job, not a catalogue number

🛡

Stiffer frame

Tubular steel corner posts give more rigidity than a plain mesh cage, so larger sizes and higher stacks stay stable.

🔻

Folds for return

Empty boxes collapse to ~330 mm and stack as flat panels, cutting return-space and shipping cost on loops.

📡

Stacks & racks

Post locators let loaded boxes stack; an optional base lets the same box sit on beam racking.

Configured to duty

Mesh or steel panel, lid, gate, casters and finish are chosen per load, size, handling and environment.

From your duty to a delivered box

1

Send your duty

Load, size, stacking layers, handling and environment — the more specific, the closer the match.

2

We return a config sheet

We propose a collapsible box variant with verified specs from the matching project, not a generic number.

3

Confirm & produce

Q235 steel, welded frame and the finish you chose; we confirm drawing and tolerances before build.

4

Deliver & fold back

Ship loaded, return empty boxes folded flat — the loop that saves space and cost.

Collapsible steel box — the honest answers

Collapsible steel box vs a wire mesh container — what is the difference?
This collapsible steel box adds tubular steel corner posts to the wire-mesh body. The posts make it stiffer and better suited to larger sizes and higher stacking than a plain wire mesh container. Loads are not directly comparable between the two.
What is the standard size and load?
The base box measures 1100×885×950 mm external, ~70 kg tare, 4,000 kg static / 2,000 kg dynamic load (verified base-box figures). Other sizes and loads are project parameters from specific drawings — we confirm the exact numbers against your final drawing, not as one universal rating.
How high can it stack, and how do I move it?
Loaded boxes stack on their post locators; safe layer count depends on the specific design, load, centre of gravity and floor — we state it per project. Movement is by forklift or pallet truck at the base; braked casters are an option for in-plant picking.
What finishes and customisations are available?
Powder coat, cold galvanize or hot-dip galvanize; colour to RAL. Body can be mesh or steel panel; lid, half-drop / full / removable gate, casters, stacking feet and racking base are all configurable per duty.
When should I NOT choose a collapsible steel box?
If you only need a low-cost standard cage with no special size or stacking need, compare a plain wire mesh container first. If goods must be fully enclosed / dust-proof, evaluate the steel-panel + lid version rather than defaulting to mesh. If the main need is light manual picking, a wheeled ergonomic variant fits better than a heavy base box.
